The role
Why this seat exists
As a Forward Deploy Engineer at SignalWeave, you sit at the intersection of engineering, product, and the customer’s operating reality. You will land on-site or remote with fleet operators, stand up Datadog-native Starlink visibility, encode vessel and site context in tags, and leave behind runbooks the NOC actually uses. You also pave the path for what we build next: capturing gaps, patterns, and unmet needs from live fleets so engineering can ship features customers will actually adopt.

Production rollout
Agent placement, collection tuning, and dashboards that survive first contact with the fleet.
Customer embed
Work alongside NOC, SRE, and OT teams until ownership transfers cleanly.
Tagging & context
Vessel, site, voyage, and residency models that make Starlink telemetry operable.
Product pathfinding
Translate customer constraints into feature opportunities that shape the roadmap.
Details
Interact with the brief
- Lead technical deployment of SignalWeave Starlink observability into customer Datadog environments
- Configure Agents, tagging, dashboards, monitors, and Downtime patterns for real fleet topologies
- Partner with Enterprise SA and AE through pilot success criteria into production cutover
- Document runbooks, escalation paths, and operational ownership for customer NOC / ITOC teams
- Troubleshoot bandwidth, residency, Agent, and Datadog packaging issues in live environments
- Surface field requirements, failure modes, and unmet customer needs that pave the path for new product features
- Partner with product and engineering to validate feature concepts against real fleet workflows before and after ship
